Dressmaker Platforms: Switch, Mobile, PS5 and PC Status
Dressmaker is on Windows and macOS today with Steam Deck rated Playable. Switch and mobile ports are planned without a date, and PS5 and Xbox were never announced.

Only Windows and macOS can play the full release today, and it is sold on Steam alone. The Steam Deck rating is Playable. The free prototype on itch.io is the widest platform list, covering Windows, macOS and Linux. Mobile and Switch ports are announced as planned with no date, and no PlayStation or Xbox version has ever been mentioned by the developers.
That last sentence matters for search traffic on this game, because a lot of pages present it as a console or phone title. It is not, and a store listing that says otherwise is selling something else.
Every platform, with its real status
| Platform | Full release | Free prototype | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windows | Yes | Yes | Steam is the only official seller |
| macOS | Yes, Apple M1 minimum | Yes | The prototype is not notarised by Apple |
| Linux | Not offered | Yes | The prototype bundles a Linux build |
| Steam Deck | Playable rating | Not applicable | Runs fast; controller support is planned |
| Switch | Planned, no date | No | Announced by the developers as a port in planning |
| Mobile | Planned, no date | No | Announced as a port in planning; the studio has not said which systems |
| PlayStation | Never announced | No | No official source mentions a PlayStation version |
| Xbox | Never announced | No | No official source mentions an Xbox version |
The four bottom rows are the ones people get wrong. “Planned” is not “coming next month”, and “never announced” is not the same as “ruled out”.
What the developers actually said about ports
Their launch announcement handles it in one line. It lists mobile and Switch ports as something they are planning. It also says the request has come up constantly on the studio’s social channels. A press report the same day repeats the mobile and Switch intent.
Two things follow from that wording. The demand is real and the developers know it. The schedule is not real, because no date appears anywhere in the announcement.
Why the prototype has a Linux build and the release does not
The prototype is an early self-published build, and the team packaged a Linux version at that stage. The store page for the full game lists Windows and macOS only, and one third-party outlet has claimed Linux support that the store page does not show. Where those disagree, the store page wins.
The practical consequence is simple. If you only run Linux, the prototype is what you can play today.
Language support is worth knowing before you buy
The full game ships with English, Simplified Chinese and Japanese across interface, full audio and subtitles. Those are also the three languages this wiki publishes, which is not a coincidence.
No other language is listed. If you need another one, the game itself will not provide it.
Options if you only own a console or a phone
There are two honest answers, and neither of them is a workaround.
- Use a computer to try the prototype. It is free at a price you choose and it covers the cutting and sewing loop. That tells you whether the core activity works for you.
- Wait for an announcement. The port is planned, and a dated announcement is the only thing that will change that.
What you cannot do is play Dressmaker in a browser. There is no web version and no cloud version, so any page offering to play it online is offering something else entirely. The official links page explains how to tell those apart from the real store page.
